Lemonade Activity |
| |
|
Students of KG celebrated lemonade activity on the occasion of World Health Day. All students were dressed in yellow dress and in the activity hour lemon squash was prepared by the teachers and given to students. Teachers then discussed with students about the importance of lemon in summer. |

Students of Prithvi house namely Shelly Gupta, Khushika Shringi, Jayant Jain and Tanmay Sharma won first prize in this competition. |

Heritage Quiz |

In continuation to its commitment to preserve the heritage, a heritage quiz was conducted at School premises on 20th April 2013. The objective behind the quiz was to enhance knowledge and overall awareness in students about our rich culture and glorious history. Preliminary test was conducted for students on 16th April and on the basis of the results four teams were formed. Event was dealt with tangible and intangible segments of Heritage. |

It was World Dance Day and students of Lawrence and Mayo Public School Kota had their best shoes on. From Hip Hop to Rajasthan’s traditional ghoomar various dance forms came live at the stage creating a vivid collage of art and culture.On this occasion dance competition was organized for two different categories – Junior and Senior. In junior category Inter class dance competition was organized which comprised of students from 4th to 5th. Performance of students left the audience spell bound. |

CCE / FA Workshop |

On Jan. 19, 2013 Lawrence and Mayo Public School, Srinathpuram, Kota was the venue for the CBSE Training Workshop for CCE/Formative Assessment for Teachers on January 19, 2013.
133 teachers from 44 CBSE schools of Kota, Bhilwara, RAPP, Ramganjmandi and Jhalawar participated in the one-day workshop. The workshop was conducted by CBSE Resource person Mrs. Mala Agnihotri and Mr. Sanjay Bareja.
The workshop acquired much significance as it was of immense value for equipping teachers with information and skills required to carry out CCE in general and FAs in particular in all major subject, i.e. Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health and Life Skills. The Resource persons updated the teachers with new educational dynamics of FAs, Various tools and techniques employed in classroom teaching, methods of evaluation etc. |

| CONVOCATION PROGRAMME NEWS 2012-13 |

|
Lawrence and Mayo Public School, Kota organised 'Convocation Ceremony 'for the students of Class HKG and V respectively. This school is one of the pioneers which has started this tradition at the school level in Rajasthan.
A programme was held in the school auditorium in which the parents were also invited. The students were promoted from pre primary to primary section and primary to middle section. This occasion was marked by awarding Diploma certificates and Performance cards.
The programme started with a song performed by the students on orchestra dedicated to the parents followed by a Belly Dance. The Director of the school Er. Pradeep Singh Gour awarded the Diploma certificates. He addressed the parents and advised them that the students need special care, love and attention of parents as it is their transition period when they are getting promoted from primary to middle section. We have to bear with patience their behavioural and biological changes that occur during this period.
He said that the co-ordination between parents and teachers play a vital role in their all round development. We need to know their hidden talents and motivate them in their life. To develop moral and ethical values in the students, parents healing hands and soothing words are of the utmost importance. He also shared some of his experience as a student.
At the end of the programme, the outstanding students were given titles - Master Junior and Miss Junior. The programme was highly appreciated by the parents. |

The venue for thr event was Tilak Academy, Mahaveer Nagar Extension. Students portrayed stamps with various views emphasizing on “HOLIDAYS” theme. |

50 students with five staff members went on a tour to Himachal Pradesh and Amritsar for seven days. At Amritsar they witnessed ‘Lowering of Flags’ ceremony / beating the retreat parade at Wagah Border, that was the incredible moment, they watched. They next went to ‘Golden Temple and paid homage to sacred book ‘Guru Granth Sahib’. They also had ‘Langar’ provided there.The following day remained more interesting as they visited ‘Jalianwala Bagh’.On the same day on 4th Nov.2012, the trip was taken to Dalhousie.Next day,we started voff to ‘Khajjiar’ on the 5th Nov.2012,we on set our trip to Macleodganj and visited Buddha Dharam Guru “ Dalai Lama” procuration . They sighted hills of Himalayan ranges on the 10th Nov.2012,they reached Kota with ampling memories. |

The beautifully decorated premises of Lawrence and Mayo Public School was abuzz with activities as the enthusiastic Lawrenites celebrated their Annual Function. The board members including Prof. K.G.Singh, Dr.C.P.Singh, Er. Pradeep Singh Gour, Mrs.Neeta Singh and Mr.Bhuvan Singh Gour gave an auspicious beginning to the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp which was followed by Ganesh Stuti, Shlok Vandana and Hanuman Chalisa.
The theme for the Annual Function was ‘ODYSSEY’ which means a long and eventful journey. It depicted the journey which the school has gone through over the period of 18 years, since 1994. Performances by tiny tots of primary school and the senior students till class XII in various items, dressed in their colorful attire, left the audience spell bound and mesmerized.
This year the Annual Function was celebrated for two days. On day one cheer and thrill filled the air as the students of the primary school while on day two senior students from Classes VI to XII displayed their talents. performed during the annual day celebrations. Over 500 students actively participated and made the function an enjoyable experience for all. Through a dance performance, the students of senior section beautifully depicted the importance of “Girl Child’ and gave the message to ‘Save the Girl Child’. Students also performed dance on song ‘School Days’ which made the audiences remember their school days when they were students. Oath was also taken by the gathering to Save Girl Child and to Stop the use of Plastic bags.
Besides the cultural bonanza, scholars were honored by Shri Pankaj Mehta Ji during a Prize Distribution Ceremony. This year’s achievements and activities were shown to the gathering through a Powerpoint Presentation. The Chief Guest along with the other dignitaries also released the School Newsletter which was followed by school’s annual report, presented by Er. Pradeep Singh Gour. In his address to the gathering he congratulated the participants and wished that they will be able to pursue their dreams since they are in the right hands at Lawrence and Mayo Public School, Kota. |

Grand Parents Day Celebration |

Lawrence and Mayo Public School, Srinathpuram, Kota celebrated "Grandparents Day" on Sept.1, 2012 in which grandparents of students of classes KG to V were invited "Grandparents are the souls of a family and should be respected and regarded duly" was the purpose of the programme.
A beautiful and short programme enraptured the grandparents which started with Hanuman Chalisa. Students danced away on old songs by immitating their grandparents like "Oh Meri Johran Jabin, Dadi Amma (2) Man Jaon" etc. "Personal experiences with grandparents" were narrated in short speeches by students which moved their hearts.
Some grandparents were honored by being the Chief guests for prize distribution function. Students received prizes for their excellent performances in co-curricular activities. The best dressed grandparents (Theme-Rajasthani dress) were selected and awarded a prize.
Principal Er. Pradeep Singh Gour extended his deep regards for grandparents and also conveyed how grandparents are special and strong bonds of a family. |

The students of Lawrence and Mayo Public School brought laurels by being the winners of both LIMCA QUIZ -2012 and BOURN VITA QUIZ -2012 at Inter-School Level. This prestigious and popular quiz is organized at the National Level by DEREK O’BRIEN every year.
LIMCA QUIZ -2012 and BOURN VITA QUIZ -2012 was organized at Rotary Binani Sabhaghar in which 254 students of 20 schools participated in preliminary written round of 30 direct questions. A school team consisted of 6 students, 6 teams qualified for the semi-final round. Each team consisted of 2 students only from each school. The questions were asked based on various subjects like history, geography, architecture, literature, entertainment etc. with emphases on Olympics 2012 and cartoons.
The organizers had opted elimination system in which out of 6 teams after first round 3 teams were selected and then from the second round 2 teams qualified for the Final Round. In Limca Quiz the team of Abhijeet Pratap Singh Tomar and Manish Sharma and in Bourn Vita Quiz the team of Divyanshu Bhargava and Kumar Kirti Jain of Lawrence and Mayo Public School won the contest. They were awarded the Inter-School Round Trophy, Gold Medals and Certificates. They also appeared in the written qualifying test for the State Level Quiz.
The Winners were congratulated by the Principal Er. Pradeep Singh Gour, the staff members and students of the school and were given best wishes to qualify for the State Level Quiz Contest. |

On August 30, 2012 LIMCA QUIZ 2012 organized by DEREK O’BRIEN was held at Rotary Binani in Kota in which approximately 120 students of 20 schools participated. From each school there were 3 teams of 2 students. Quiz started with preliminary round in which 30 direct questions were asked. After this round 6 teams qualified for mains. One team from each school was selected.
In the first round questions were asked based on various subjects like history, geography, architecture, literature, entertainment etc. but the main theme of the quiz was Olympics.

To inculcate the general awareness Inter-house G.K Quiz Competition was organized by National & Political Club for Classes IX-X. Subjects included were G.K (India & World), Books & Authors, Sports, Olympics & History. Audio visual round was also an asset of this Quiz.

Inter-house News Reading Competition was held for Classes I to V. This competition inculcates the habit of news reading, watching news and creates general awareness among the students. The hidden talents of the tiny tots came out and they gave their best by reading the news. |
